In one of our recent blogs, we encouraged readers to think visually, to show people information while communicating a specific message. In today’s Website of the Week blog series, we’ll explore this topic further by outlining how the use of infographics on your IR website will help you communicate your investor story.

Visually appealing websites that are information-rich are bound to attract your IR audience and drive them to further explore your IR website. According to an infographic titled ‘We Live in a Visual World,’ content with visuals receives 94% more views than content without visuals. Also, the infographic notes that 90% of information that’s stored in the brain is visual information.

Cornerstone OnDemand, a company that helps organizations recruit, train, and manage their people, exemplifies this notion of embedding visual information effectively on their IR website. Their IR homepage communicates the company’s key messaging, heightening the storytelling technique to their investor/analyst audience and to anyone seeking information about them.

As the user scrolls down the IR homepage, they can instantly view key data about Cornerstone OnDemand. The section titled ‘Global Leader in SaaS Talent Management’ presents information visually, communicating the bigger scope about the number of clients, where the company operates, and the number of users.

Next, the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are presented using an infographic-style format as the user continues to navigate through the IR homepage. Titled ‘Q4 2014 Quarterly Results,’ the KPIs underneath this section are quite valuable as they’re updated every quarter. Thus, when the investor/analyst visits Cornerstone OnDemand’s IR website, they are kept up-to-date with the company’s quarterly results.

Within the same section, the user can also view financial reports like: earnings release, the annual filing, and the non-GAAP financial measures. Also, upon clicking on the ‘View all Financial Reports’ tab, as you can see below, the user is prompted to another page that has a financial summary including downloadable annual reports and proxy statements.

Moreover, Cornerstone OnDemand’s IR website is designed to dynamically respond across all devices so that it looks sleek to the on-the-go user as well. For your investor/analyst audience the ability to access your company’s IR website on a mobile device is integral.

Overall, integrating infographics on your IR website engages your investor/analyst audience, which then helps reinforce your story. The key here is to present the information in a visually creative way, one that is informative and outlines key messages about your company to your investor audience.
